A soft boiled scotch egg is... it sounds rather nice about now

These are hard boiled Scotch eggs.
There are few places that make them fresh and soft boiled.

I know... I just want it. I ought to just make it myself

They are easy enough to make. I just don’t have the energy to. Lol.
Time for a beer I think.

I’m rarely this conflicted over foodstuff. Either looks good at the moment or it doesn’t.
LongbowMkII might have been going through a similar thought process. Deep fried pub food no matter how attractive still gives one pause at breakfast. With strong enough coffee I can melt through the grease and enjoy it fully sounds like a great battle charge especially if soft boiled.

Hmmm. I wouldn’t class them as pub food. They are more snack, picnic and quick easy lunch food really. Never seen them on sale in a pub as far as I recall.
Most Scotch pies are oven baked, but fresh deep fried is better.

You would much better know. The time of day those of us in the states were reading this was breakfast time. Cooked eggs going inside some sausage and breading was looking about 90% fine for greeting a cool day with light dusting of snow.
